









Dr Adaeze Oreh
Dr Oreh is a Consultant Family Physician, Senior Health Policy Advisor and Director at Federal Ministry of Health Abuja Nigeria and Governing Council Member of the Pamo University of Medical Sciences. She holds 3 Fellowship Awards
- the West African College of Physicians,
- the Aspen Institute, Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and
- the Royal Society of Public Health.
A multiple award winner with stints of study at Harvard and Oxford Universities, she has almost 20 years cognate experience in the vast fields of medicines and public health. Among her recent works, she called for a new approach to maternal and child health. Working towards health equity and universal health coverage she advises the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood headquartered in Washington D.C. She has received awards as an Amujae Leader, at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center), Global First Ladies Alliance, The END FUND and most recently International Society of Blood Transfusion, British Blood Transfusion Society, World Organization of Family Doctors, and the American Board of Family Medicine Foundation for her research on COVID-19. With a ‘Miles to go’ mindset, she is a Member, Technical Committee for Drafting of the Proposal on Stem Cell Transplantation to be presented to the Government of Nigeria

Prof. Folasade T Ogunsola MBChB, MSc, PhD, FMCPath, FWACP, FAS
Professor Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola is the first female vice-chancellor in the school’s 60-year history, and the 13th vice-chancellor of University of Lagos (UNILAG). She is a Professor of Clinical Microbiology, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, and Past Provost of the University’s College of Medicine.
She has been involved in Infection Control for 20 years and contributed significantly in raising awareness of Infection Control in Nigeria. She was a founding member of the Nigerian Society for Infection Control (Formerly Nigerian Infection Control Association, NICA) in 1998 and has assisted in setting up infection control programs in institutions in the country.
Along with her team Prof Ogunsola wrote a curriculum for a 6-month diploma in Infection Control. She is a member of the Global Infection Prevention and control Network, board member of the Nigerian Society of Infection Control and Chair of the Infection Control African Network. In the global healthcare social space, Prof Ogunsola has played a key role in infectin prevention and control, and major roles in pandemics and outbreaks in Africa such as Ebola and COVID-19. In particular, she was able to successfully sustain her research -oriented academic prowess with the admniistrative functions accompanying her emerging roles from Provost to Deputy Vice Chancellor with such success that she has recent publications on COVID-19, Ebola, etc. With a ‘Miles to go ‘ mindset, she said “For the beginning (of COVID-19) we were alone, everybody was dealing with COVID in their continent. And a lot of the things came down to simple things that work, simple solutions: washing your hands, masking up, making sure that you do things such that there’s reduced transmission. It works. You don’t need to wait till you have to do something that’s highly technological. What came out of the pandemic for us was really that we really could be self-sufficient

Nkechi Ukaiwe Country Manager Janssen, Johnson and Johnson
Nkechi Ukaiwe, is the first lady to hold the ‘numero uno’ position at the Multinational Conglomerate Johnson & Johnson and its Pharmaceutical Division Janssen; is a formidable, impactful young lady who has honed her skills in a world of men! Nkechi holds a B. Pharm degree in Pharmacy from the University of Lagos, School of Pharmacy. She is a passionate leader with over 16 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry with more than half in the field of Oncology across several companies. With a ‘Miles-to-go’ Mindset into the future, she has led very well in her past, and she has a track record of strong performance and leading teams.
Recently appointed as Country Manager Janssen Pharmaceuticals companies of Johnson & Johnson; her innovation and diversity mindset led to her being part of 4-man team that established HER2 testing in Nigeria, working closely with pathologists to establish a guideline for testing and helping to detect breast cancer tumor markers very early, thus saving the lives of many women through early detection of breast cancer.
She launched Women Leadership and Inclusion (WLI) a Janssen employee resource group in Nigeria and was chapter lead for 3 years. One of her goals is to see a healthier more inclusive society and is committed to make significant contributions wherever she is. As Vice Chairman at her resident’s association, she takes underrepresentation and gender bias very seriously encouraging women to get involved in social, economic, and political groups. .

Prof Smaranda Olarinde, Vice Chancellor ABUAD
Elisabeta Smaranda OLARINDE FCArb, FCAI, is a Professor of Law; and the Vice-Chancellor of the Number 1 University in Nigeria and number 321 Universities in the World; Afe Babalola University Ado-Ekiti ABUAD. She is a Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (FCArb); Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCAI); and Member, Governing Council, ABUAD.
She is the West Africa Representative of the Association of African Universities (AAU) Governing Board, Member Board of Trustees Ahman Pategi University, Pategi, Kwara State and she was a member of the prestigious Council of Legal Education, Nigeria, 2013 to July, 2019. She has over 39 years of cumulative experience as a law teacher, academic, scholar, astute university administrator and legal practitioner.
A woman of many parts, she is being recognized today not only for her role as the Institutional Team Lead of the wave-making COVID-19 Innovation therapy by ABUAD; but she is a founding member of the first Nigerian Interdisciplinary Research Network on Social Sciences and Reproductive Health (SSRHN), University Teaching Hospital (UCH) Ibadan, a Research funded by Ford and Mc Arthur Foundations. Her legal background, in both civil law (Romania) and common law (Nigeria) systems, adds to her diverse multidisciplinary expertise and profile. This presents her with a distinctive comparative perspective on national and international legal research, where her focus has been on medical law, women, children and young adolescents’ rights and protection. There is no doubt that she is running with the ‘Miles-to-go Mindset’ as her drive. She is getting a double award today as we speak, for the same reasons and more. We salute you Ma’am

Cima Sholotan, Director IHS Nigeria
Cima Sholotan is an empathetic, purpose-driven sustainability professional with over 15 years of experience in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has worked with business leaders in the Banking, Financial Regulatory, and Telecommunications industries to drive strategic organizational growth through responsible business practices. Her expertise includes helping organizations deliver on their triple bottom line, implementing large-scale community investment initiatives, and advising on regulatory and policy matters.
During her career, she has facilitated partnerships that continue to provide Universal Health Coverage (UHC2030) to underserved and vulnerable populations. Some notable projects include collaboration with AXA Mansard to offer Telehealth services and Free micro-health insurance to 20,000 people, working with the ENDFund to deliver over 150,000 treatments for Non-tropical Diseases, and enabling access to medical services to thousands of children through UNICEF Nigeria.
Cima has participated in several low literacy and pro-poor community healthcare initiatives, has initiated COVID Resilience Programmes, Humanitarian Day Programmes and outreaches, as well as climate and environment initiatives to improve the lot of poor people at the base of the pyramid. She is indeed a philanthropic woman with a ‘Miles to go’ mindset, and an impactful personality in the healthcare space.
Cima is the Director, Sustainability and Corporate Communications at IHS Nigeria Limited. She is an Executive Council member of the Association of Sustainability Professionals of Nigeria (ASPN) and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS). She has participated in various executive education programs from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School and Yale School of Management.

Pharm Folasade .O. Lawal
Folasade Olufunke Lawal is a community pharmacist with over 35 years experience – passionately providing cutting-edge pharmaceutical and preventive care services. In 1989, she founded Victory Drugs, a well- recognized community pharmacy known for it’s integrity and unprecedented range of services. In order to achieve her vision of improving the total health of the people within the community, she established collaborative relationships with medical professionals in various fields. Maximizing these relationships, she has organized several community outreach programmes (in marketplaces, schools, religious gatherings, etc) aimed at initiating positive behavioural changes to curb the spread of dieseases as well as health awareness campaigns on healthy living, drug abuse and vaccination.
This also includes the creation of online community health groups with over 1200 members, which features frequent lectures from medical professionals on various topics ranging from preventive health care to disease management. Folasade is also a recognized advocate for prevention of Antimicrobial Resistance, a major public health concern in the country.
She served on the National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance in 2017 as representative of ACPN national chairman and is often called on to deliver lectures on the subject in various conferences around the country. With a ‘Miles to go’ mindset, Folasade, in collaboration with other medical professionals, recently opened a vaccination center with a view to promoting preventive health by reducing mortality rates due to vaccine-preventable diseases

Chief Christiana Adeyemi
Chief Christiana Adeyemi is the first Iyalode of Sogunro Community Makoko/Iwaya Waterfront , a low -income community in Lagos State. As Iyalode, sjhe is the Woman Leader of the whoe Community. She has been the Iyalode of Sogunro Village for the past 25 years and she has impacted lives through her services to the community.
Over the past 9 years in particular, Iyalode Adeyemi has been very actively engaged in Community Health decision making and implementation, at the Sogunro Community. She has been involved in several community outreaches and advocacy on Hepatitis screening and vaccination.
In 2019, she was trained and certified along with members of her Community and adjoining communities, as Women in Hepatitis Africa Champion. She orchestrated access to healthcare facilities for the community members especially in the reconstruction of the Community- link Footbridge through the Local Government. She is also involved in the advocacy of Preventing Mother to Child Transmission of Viral Hepatitis PMTCT, and in maternal and child health. These activities she implements by monitoring and following up new births at TBAs and ensuring linkages to care.
Where necessary she personally accompanies such a patient to the skilled birthing centers or to the adjoining LWI Waterfront Healthpost. She is a participant in the Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health Boston USA Field Practicums, as she is a key facilitator and linkage to the Community, for our Harvard T H Chan Practicum Candidates.
Iyalode Adeyemi is a lover of wmen and children, and a woman with a ‘Miles to go’ Mindset, planning greater Healthcare Strides for her Community and for all women and children, far into the future.

Mrs Ajiya Agwom Agyer

Mrs Grace Ebun Delano
Mrs Grace Ebun Delano is a Multiple International Award winner. Health System leader and Mentor. She is a seasoned Administrator, Nurse/Midwife and Reproductive Health Advocate with over five decades with over five decades of active working experience. She rose steadily from the post of Theatre Staff Nurse in charge of a Theatre in the United Kingdom in 1959 to the position of a Vice President/Executive Director of a leading Non-governmental Organization that she co-founded, the Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH), Ibadan, Oyo state, Nigeria where she gracefully retired in November 2015.
Mrs Grace Deano’s exemplary advocacy role for women’s emancipationist reflected in her enormous drive to provide integrated reproductive health services, adult literacy, income generating ventures for many rural communities as well as effective sensitization of governmental and non-governmental organizations to the need for collaboration and coherence to their social reform activities.
With an array of International Awards, the most recent being just a year ago, and with a “Miles to Go Mindset” Mama Declare as she is now popularly known is working daily with children below the age of 5years, in a new initiative which is targeted showing that a child’s future is largely impacted through nurture. We salute you, Ma’am.

Dr Zainab Bagudu
Dr Zainab Bagudu, the first lady of Kebbi State, is a Multiple Award winner, a Philanthropist, Paediatrician and a Patient Advocate. She currently sits on the Board of the Union for International Cancer Control UICC. Dr Bagudu obtained her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine) from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria then went on to specialize in Paediatrics and Neonatology in the United Kingdom. She has a Masters in Paediatrics, a Diploma in Tropical Child Health and is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health is a Consultant Paediatrician.
She is a passionate and active advocate for women, children and youth in Nigeria. Her programs cut across various aspects of development such as health, education and women empowerment.
In her role as a patient advocate she has focus on Women’s Health especially as regards Cancer. She has pursued this with so much passion that her impact has extended beyond national, to global communities. As a result, she was recently appointed to the Board, and is now as President Elect of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) the worldwide umbrella body for cancer organizations. She is also the Chairman of the Nation’s First Ladies Cancer Foundation. She has worked with the AU, Chatterhouse, the Commonwealth Institute, the UN, WHO, USDC, and other Developmental Partners, She has helped many woman to access cancer medicines and she still does more.
She is a gifted orator and writes frequently on topical issues. This has made her a mentor to many young people nationally and globally.
In her determination to continue to advance the access of woman to medicines and good health at all times, she will be taking up the Global Mantle of President at the International Cancer Consortium. We congratulate yu, Your Excellency.
